She sat sideways on the bench, legs folded, red backpack tucked close, like she was just passing through, but in no hurry to leave. Around her, pallet-planted trees and festival flower beds softened the square’s edges, lending the space a borrowed calm.

Shot on a Nikon D850 with the 50mm f/1.4 AF-S G, a lens that lets me stay present without shouting “photographer.” It doesn’t loom, doesn’t intrude. I have to get closer, sure, but that’s part of the dance. A quiet negotiation between distance and presence.
